Your Website Journey

From first assets to launch day — here's every step.

Discovery & Strategy — Week 1
1
Week 1 Discovery call Maria + Deshawna
Discovery
Scope, goals & brand intake confirmed
Services, target clients, brand palette, photography assets, and booking platform reviewed together. Scope of copywriting confirmed — full rewrite or refinement.
Deliverable: completed brand and strategy intake questionnaire — shared in advance so we arrive at the call aligned, not still gathering basics.
If you have existing professional photography, please gather those assets ahead of time so we can review them together during the call.
2
Week 1 Site & content audit Maria
Discovery
Current site audited — UX, copy, SEO & conversion gaps mapped
Full review of existing pages: user journey, messaging hierarchy, search performance, and booking path friction points identified.
Deliverable: written site audit summary shared with you — what's working, what isn't, and the specific opportunities the redesign will address.
Copy — Weeks 2–3
3
Week 2 Messaging framework Maria drafts · Deshawna reviews
Copy
Tone of voice & messaging strategy agreed
Voice, language approach, and key messaging pillars established before any page copy is written. This ensures the full site speaks consistently.
Deliverable: tone of voice document — your messaging pillars, language guidelines, and what to avoid. A reference you keep beyond this project.
4
Weeks 2–3 Page copy drafted Maria drafts · Deshawna reviews
Copy
All core page copy written — Home, About, Services, Contact
Copy for 1:1 therapy, EMDR intensives, and yoga/meditation workshops written with SEO terms embedded. Warm, human, and culturally responsive in tone.
Deliverable: full page copy document shared for your review and edits before it moves into design.
Copy must be signed off before design begins. Changes to copy after the design phase may affect layout and add time.
Design & Build — Weeks 3–5
5
Week 3 Visual direction Maria shares · Deshawna reviews
Design
Colour, typography & visual direction agreed
Palette, type system, and overall aesthetic direction locked before build begins. Informed by your brand palette and the earthy, grounded aesthetic direction.
Deliverable: a visual moodboard presenting the design direction — imagery, colour, and type in context — shared for your review and sign-off before any build work begins.
6
Weeks 3–4 Core build Maria
Design
All pages designed & built in Squarespace
Layout, visual hierarchy, spacing, subtle interactivity, and mobile responsiveness across all pages. Jane app booking integration and any other third-party platforms connected and tested on both mobile and desktop.
Deliverable: private staging site preview link — full site visible on desktop and mobile before the formal review round.
7
Week 4 Testimonials & reviews Maria + Deshawna
Design
Google reviews & testimonials integrated
Testimonials placed strategically within the user journey — not just collected at the bottom. Google review integration confirmed.
8
End of Week 4 Mid-build preview Maria shares · Deshawna reviews
Design
Preview link shared — one contracted revision round
Review layout, flow, copy placement, and overall feel.
This is the one contracted revision round. Please come prepared with consolidated notes. Feedback received here is incorporated in week 5.
SEO & Launch — Week 5
9
Week 5 Revisions applied Maria
SEO
Revision round & SEO foundations applied
All consolidated changes implemented. Page titles, meta descriptions, heading hierarchy, and local search terms optimised across all pages.

10
Week 5 Google Business Profile Maria + Deshawna
SEO
Google Business Profile optimised
Profile updated with correct categories, services, hours, and imagery. Aligned with on-site SEO to strengthen local search visibility for Toronto therapy searches.
Deliverable: fully updated Google Business Profile — optimised and ready to support local search from day one.
11
Week 5 Pre-launch QA Maria
SEO
Mobile QA, form testing & final cross-device check
All forms, booking flows, and integrations verified. Site confirmed across mobile, tablet, and desktop before launch.
Launch Launch day Maria
Launch
Your site goes live
Final sign-off confirmed. Site published. Login credentials and full edit access transferred.
Deliverable: live site, full Squarespace login credentials, and offboarding documentation — a plain-language guide covering how to update your content, manage your blog, adjust images, and handle common edits so you can run the site confidently without needing a designer for day-to-day changes.

Your Questions, Answered.

  • Your brand assets (logo, colours, fonts), any existing photography, and a clear sense of your core services and target clients. I'll send you an intake questionnaire ahead of our first call to help you gather everything in one place.

  • I'll share a private preview link so you can review the full site on desktop and mobile. This is your one contracted revision round, so I ask that you come prepared with consolidated notes rather than sending feedback in stages.

  • The revision round covers all consolidated feedback from the mid-build check-in. Changes requested after that point, or outside the original scope, are billed at the hourly rate.

  • The build clock starts once all content is received. Delays on the content side push the timeline accordingly — I'll always communicate this clearly so there are no surprises.

  • Yes. I provide offboarding documentation covering all the common updates you'll need to make — adding blog posts, swapping images, editing copy — so you're not dependent on a designer for day-to-day changes.

In a few weeks, you'll have a website that finally matches the quality of your work. One that speaks directly to the people you're meant to serve, reflects the depth and care you bring to your practice, and gives you the confidence to send anyone there — whether it's a referral, a speaking opportunity, or someone who found you on Psychology Today.

A site you're proud of, that feels like you.

Thank you for trusting me with this. Building a website is an intimate process — it asks you to put words to what you do and why it matters, and that's not always easy. I don't take that lightly.

My job is to make this as smooth and low-overwhelm as possible for you. You focus on your work. I'll take care of the rest.

So glad we're doing this together!

xo,
Maria
